Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday

If you’re into social media, then you’ve probably seen the hashtag #GivingTuesday by now.

It’s a great concept and we’re hopeful to see how it works out this year even with the big competition of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Giving Tuesday isn’t about finding the perfect gift, it’s about giving back. It supports the an idea that you to pick any cause or any charity and “give back” to them. Giving Tuesday encourages people to share their cause on their preferred social media outlets and push friends to do the same. There’s around 250 organizations involved in this years campaign. My guess is there’s going to be tons more next year 🙂

Here’s the official description of what it’s all about…

We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals. This year help create #GivingTuesday™, the giving season’s opening day.

On Tuesday November 27, 2012 charities, families, businesses and individuals are coming together to transform the way people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season.

It’s a simple idea. Find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to join in acts of giving. Tell everyone you can about what you are doing and why it matters. Join a national celebration of our great tradition of generosity.

And together we’ll create ways to give more, give better and give smarter.

Check out the main #GivingTuesday website and figure out how you can “give back” to your favorite cause.

An MOST IMPORTANTLY, if your favorite charity is not on this list, go ahead and give to them today – you won’t regret it!
