Using Vimeo PLUS for Clients Video Projects

We do a fair number of video and motion graphics projects in any given year. They range from B2B marketing pieces, to consumer facing web commercials cartoons to internal marketing videos for companies.

One thing that has always been a pain point with these kinds of projects is enabling clients to view work in progress.  We used to try to just FTP up a Quicktime movie version and hope the client could watch it. That was sometime problematic because some of the larger B2B clients were behind corporate firewalls and policies that didn’t allow Quicktime to be installed on their machines.

Thanks to Vimeo we’ve finally found an answer. With a Vimeo PLUS account you can control many attributes of a video. Including a password protect feature, or “Private” feature.  Our client video process now entails us uploading our video comp to our Vimeo Pro account, password protecting, and then sending the link.  Because Vimeo’s videos will play on virtually any device or browser we no longer have to worry about the client being able to view it or not.

Thanks Vimeo!
