I have used my iPhone to buy music from the iTunes store a few times recently and thus I wasn’t surprised to come across this:

Nielsen Mobile figures released at the Internet Retailer Conference in Chicago express that 9 million US mobile subscribers have used their mobile phone to pay for goods or services.
