So Long, Google Places

So Long, Google Places

If your business website has been coming up as a Google Place result, you’re in for a change…

Last week Google replaced Google Places with Google+ and Google+ Pages (try saying that out loud!).

More specifically, Google+ Local pages have replaces the Places pages. On the first day of launching this (May 30, 2012), evidently 80 million Place pages had been automatically converted into 80+ Local pages.

One cool thing is that Google+ Local pages are visually better. They allow more info to be displayed than Places pages allowed.

Also, Google+ Local pages will be indexed. And thusly if you’re a business who has local business, it’s important that you make sure you have a great + Local page.
